Customer service. Can you define the term? Have you had good customer service lately. Have you had ANY customer service lately? When was the last time you were able to talk to a human the first time out?
Twice in the last few months I've had good customer service, The latest was the result of me ranting and whining over an expired Valero credit card. Dane from Valero seemed more upset by this than I was. He called and e-mailed both me and my wife Tanya that the cards had been sent out, but never arrived at its destination -- our house. He was taking care of it personally so we could have valid cards by the end of the week.
A few weeks before, I disputed a missing deposit at The People's Federal Credit Union. I don't know the young lady's name, but she and her team worked for hours trying to find a deposit I made that wasn't credited to my account, causing my mortgage payment to bounce. She called with questions, checked things out; called back with more questions, checked them out. And called a third time, where we found out the error was mine. I was embarrassed that I wasted her and her team's time, but she was just as cheerful as could be.
Customer service goes a long way toward customer loyalty. But it's so rare these days.
