There's a really good reason we live in Texas: Driving in any kind of inclement weather is a challenge for Amarillo drivers. Driving to work today you'd think we were trying to navigate in a blizzard. Cars were spinning out, losing traction, not being able to get through intersections easily.
Of course, each of those occurrences happened in front of me. Peole who've moved here from up north continue to be amazed at the lack of snow-driving skills. Give 'em a little while and they'll be in the same situation.
There's another good reason people from up north disparage our lack of driving skills; Up there, once it starts to snow, no one sees the bare ground for months, so you'd better get used to it. Here, if the snow lasts for more than three days, it's a winter disaster.
Lucky we live in amarillo.
