Well, we're back from Houston's MD Anderson Cancer Center and I can finally let out that breath. The last time we went, two months ago, we were "holding our own," so I was apprehensive about this visit. It turned out better. No new cancer and the lesions on the liver are smaller and continue heading in that general direction. But the doc warned us that despite the good news, with this type of cancer, there never will be remission. She loosely used the term "partial remission" as the best we can hope ofr. I'll take that.

She's going to reduce the amount of chemo I'll be taking and see what happens. I'm hoping she's not playing games with us -- unless it's like Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit. And I won't even mind losing at them if it means the liver lesions continue to shrink!

Bruce,
Thank you for the update, the news sounds wonderful. All the work you did for my son Alec was so gracious and selfless, thank you from my entire family. We spent 11 weeks in Houston for Alecs nerve transplant and unless you have been in that medical district it is hard to describe, but you are right, there is no place like home. God bless you Bruce for all that you do, our prayers for you will continue, please keep us updated. My family and I will forever be grateful for all the fundraising posts that allowed us to give our son his best chance for use of his left arm.
Sincerely,
Sharla Drerup
