Before I go on to today’s rant, I have to make a correction to yesterday’s missive.

While it’s true my son Brian is trying to update my musical tastes, it was my daughter April who took the initiative to place the modern music on my MP3.

I asked Brian not to add anything to my playlist and he told me April was the culprit. The dead giveaway was a number of songs listed by Pink.

I know there are a lot of people who think Pink is one of the greatest singers of this generation. Obviously, April is one. I am not.

So I’m apologizing to Brian, though I’m keeping the Pogues on my playlist but deleted Pink.

What have I noticed today? Maybe the same thing you noticed. Let’s compare observations.

Have you noticed how long the lines are at establishments that have drive-through lanes for breakfast? I mean just about every one has a line snaking around the building.

When I use a drive-through lane, it stresses me out. I want the person in front of me to hurry up and get going and then I worry that the drive-through employee got my order wrong.

My daughter April works at an overnight drive-through lane and she takes great pride in getting the order right. So when we order and something isn’t right, April’s on the phone, demanding they get it right.

I don’t use the drive-through in the morning so my day starts out with as little stress as possible. My solution? Get up 15 minutes earlier and have breakfast at home.
