Lately I've been taken to task by a couple of bloggers, but mostly by Doug Douglas, who goes by the blog name GMac. While a lot of what he had to say to counter my rants about the screaming heads on TV is honest disagreement, I was wounded when he said I was rude not to respond to his posting. My mother raised me better than that.
Mr. Douglas, I apologize for not responding quicker. Posting a daily blog is part of my assignment but sometimes times gets away from me. Oftentimes I say what I have to say and get out of it. Sometimes what I write would come under the "who cares?" category.
Another blogger, deedarlin, asked me to please stay out of the political debate. It was short, to the point, and very effective.
I will try to stay away from politics. I can't promise I'll stay away completely, because sometimes I hear something that just makes me want to rant.
To all who have responded to my blogs, thanks for reading, and, if the spirit moves you, write to keep me on the straight and narrow.

My name is not Doug Douglas (not EVEN close) but you can call me that if you wish. As much as I disagree with you on most issues I have seen you blog about so far, I do have to applaud you for responding and for allowing comments to be posted on your blogs. I know of at least one blogger with the paper who filters comments from people who disagree. Can we all say "fragile ego"?

As far as the comment I posted about rudeness, I was simply trying to illustrate the point that everyone has their own ideas of what rudeness is and what it is not. I think most people prefer civility and open debate.

So, thanks for your reply. I will continue reading.

I just realized how you came to the erroneous idea that my name is Doug Douglas. LOL.

When you click on the E Blogger Icon it takes you to a profile. My name is not published on the profile. Doug Douglas is the name of a blogger that I "follow". I did forward your comment to Mr. Douglas since you "Exposed" him to you many followers as GMac. I thought he might get a chuckle.

I generally don't make it a habit to put any extra information on the internet. There are some strange people out there.

Come on Bruce, you are a journalist, surely you can do better research.

I just read the second of your comments (can we say 'go all the way to the bottom?'. I think sometimes I give the Internet more credit than it deserves. There's so much out there. When I Googled my own name, I came across quite a few saddled with the name. I wish I made the money sportscaster Bruce Beck probably does. It's not the most common name around (and I really wished my mother had named me something more manly, but her concern was to name me something that couldn't be shortened, like Bill from William or Bob, Bobby, Rob, Robbie, etc., etc. Instead, a lot of people have LENGTHENED it -- to Brucie).
